Welcome

Most people going to therapy for the first time have fear and trepidation, and maybe a dose of skepticism. It can be scary to admit that everything is not OK. You’re reading this,  so part of you wants to take the risk and reach for help

Psychotherapy

We all experience feeling shamed, blamed, guilty, too much, or not enough and having those feelings dismissed, minimized, or ignored. What if your feelings are just right? You have a good reason to feel everything that you feel. Your feelings make sense.

You are probably wondering how therapy can help.  Creating a strong therapeutic alliance is key to effective therapy, so it’s vital that you trust your intuition when you meet the therapist. Do you feel comfortable? Do you click? If you’re with a partner, do you both feel safe, heard, and validated? While good therapy will sometimes be painful, it should also feel like a sanctuary – a place where you can let down and be vulnerable, express yourself, and be heard with compassion and empathy.

I’ve been described as warm, personable, and funny. I actively guide my clients – you won’t be lying on a couch while I “mm hmm” like Freud. We’ll be engaged in a deep process that weaves your past with your present and supports your growth and healing.

Being human isn’t easy.

Work stress, financial burdens, parenting challenges, profound loss and emotional wounds can block us from fully enjoying our lives and our loves. I have expertise in helping to navigate challenges, transitions and painful times…I have experience creating a safe place to  explore the patterns, old wounds and fears that can hold you back.  I believe in resilience, I believe in humor, and I believe in the transformative power of a therapeutic relationship.

There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in. – Leonard Cohen
